Then we’re joined by Jennifer Lynch, Ph.D. Co-Director of the Hawaiʻi Pacific University’s Center for Marine Debris Research and Kevin O’Brien, President, Founder of Papahānaumokuākea Marine Debris Project. They’re here to talk about a recent NOAA Sea Grant award to support marine debris removal pilot projects.
First up, we have Cindy Knapman to tell us about the latest happenings with the Sea Grant Program. We talk about their strategic plan update and a survey you can participate in. Deadline for the survey is June 30, 2022.
Then, we are joined by Jeff Decker, Program Director of Hacking for Defense (based at Stanford University), Gloria Choo who is part of the National Security Innovation Network and Jeff Hui who is the instructor of the Hacking for Defense ENGR401 course. Finally, for the remainder of the hour, we’ll talk to Kanesa Seraphin, Associate Professor in Curriculum Research & Development Group (CRDG) in the UHM College of Education, Joanna Philippoff, co-PI and Program Manager in CRDG and Anuschka Faucci, Education Specialist/Lab coordinator in the UH Dept of Biology, about OPIHI, Our Project in Hawaii’s Intertidal.
