After some national tech headlines, we cover the local tech calendar. Meli James from the Hawaii Venture Capital Association returns to tell us about their August luncheon about the innovation economy. Also returning is Cindy Matsuki from the High Tech Development Corporation to give us a preview of the next WetWare Wednesday networking mixer — marking their 5th anniversary. Finally, after the break, we check in for this hurricane season and talk about new tech and gadgets to consider during a natural disaster. Joining us are John Cummings from the City’s Dept of Emergency Management and disaster preparedness instructor Wes Koga.
